Alamy Reaches 24 Million Images

With the recent addition of around one million celebrity images Alamy has more than 24 million images available online.

Rachel Wakefield, Head of Sales at Alamy, said:

Asian Stock Photography Site Photokore Adds Hindi Language

Photokore, an Asian stock photography company, has announced that they have added Hindi search functionality to their web site. This is in addition to Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Thai, and English.

They also offer landing pages in Arabic, Filipino, Malaysian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

Asia is a  fast-growing imagery market, but a large number of image buyers in the region do not read English. By providing support for so many Asian languages, Photokore is taking a lead in targeting the Asian stock photography market.

Pixmac Approaches 12 Million Images

Pixmac reports that they now have more than 11 million images for sale through their site and quickly approaching 12 million.

These include more than 750,000 submitted directly and many others via partners including Deposit Photos and Yay Micro.

Shutterstock Upgrades Content Editor

Shutterstock has upgraded their Content Editor to speed up the submission of images faster and add more powerful features.

“For a limited time, you can continue to use the Batch Editor or the Legacy Editor but you should switch soon, as we will be phasing out those tools.”

Albumo Relaunched

Albumo Images

Microstock web site Albumo has been relaunched and is now part of the Fantero Network.

According to Fantero’s twitter posts images can be uploaded again and they will be launching a new email newsletter soon.

Albumo currently has over 700,000 royalty-free images.

It will be interesting to see if this microstock site will be more successful this time around.
